Turquoise Charlie Hidden Symbols
Once again as an “author”, I’ll never get used to that title, I have put fun little images into my books. Most readers wouldn’t notice these hidden symbols but these little details are important to my family! Every family has hidden meaning in objects or silly memories, this is our time capsule. I never want these little things to be forgotten!
Play along and find these hidden symbols in turquoise charlie!

You will see a teddy bear on the copyright page, and a couple more times in book 7. Look closely at his name. This is a special shout-out to my middle child, my mini-me (but a 2.0 version).

When the family is standing in the driveway waiting for the mom’s instructions, you can see the mom and kids holding papers. Those “to-do lists” are really spreadsheets to stay organized. Our family has an inside joke about Excel spreadsheets!

Arriving at the County Fair you can see a sign with “Fried Cookies” on it. The chocolate chip cookie is a wink to my grandkids who call me Cookie sometimes even Cook-a-la!

At the same campfire scene on the opposite side near the pickup trucks, is a fire extinguisher. That is a nod to my son-in-law who is a firefighter, always safety first!

Our farm was named “5 Star Farm” because there are five of us in our family. The 5 stars are referenced at the beach, on the sail of the boat in book 7 and on the last page when Dude Remy and Turquoise Charlie are celebrating!

The real Dude Remy!

In the scene when the parents are loading a dresser into Turquoise Charlie’s flatbed, you can see a fleur-de-lis on the drawer. My daughter-in-law Alexis always loved this symbol.

The tractor is a special guest in this series. It’s my husband’s favorite thing about the farm! If I ever write another sequel. I will let him name it…maybe!!!!

In the firepit scene when close friends stop by, you can see a bag of potato chips leaning on a tree stump stool. That is a shout-out to my daughter-in-law Lindsey who loves Cape Cod chips!

In the driveway when all the family unites, there is a cardinal on a tree branch. Look closely into the nest and you will see eggs. That is a nod to any future grandchildren I might have. I would never want them to feel left out!

Shout-out…just because!

The real Turquoise Charlie!
